WANA (Jun 28) – Mohammad Javad Zarif, former Iranian Foreign Minister, has strongly condemned recent remarks by Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), accusing him of “conspiring to facilitate further war crimes.”

In a message posted on his account on the social media platform X, Zarif wrote: “Rafael Grossi, whose false report at the IAEA aided the killing of innocents, is now conspiring to enable more war crimes by irresponsibly speculating that Iran has hidden uranium in World Heritage sites in Isfahan.”

He went on to emphasize: “The IAEA must distance itself from this disgrace.”

Zarif concluded his message with the hashtag “#FireGrossi,” echoing a campaign led by critics who have recently accused the agency of fueling regional tensions.

This reaction comes after a Fox News correspondent alleged that enriched uranium had been hidden at historical sites in Isfahan, citing previous comments by Grossi. While Grossi replied, “There’s no room for speculation. We have no information about the location of such material,” critics argue that even this statement has helped create confusion and intensify pressure on Iran.

These accusations against the IAEA chief arise at a time when the agency’s role in regional political and security developments—particularly regarding Iran’s nuclear program—is once again under scrutiny.
