WANA (Jul 07) – Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), issued a sharp rebuke to U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday following his recent remarks threatening the Iranian population.

 

“Previously, as the leader of a rootless country with a 250-year history, you used similar rhetoric to speak about erasing Iran’s millennia-old civilization,” Zolghadr said, addressing Trump. “The only result for you was defeat, desperation, and requests for negotiations and a ceasefire. Iranians are foreign to the language of threats.”

 

The security chief warned: “Speak to the Iranian people with respect, or we will respond to you in a different language.”

 

Joining the criticism, Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Seyyed Abbas Salehi, published a statement on X (formerly Twitter) addressing the American threats:

 

“The enemies have not abandoned the language of bullying. If you have not learned from your past defeats, take a lesson from the massive and passionate presence of millions of Iranians bidding farewell to their martyred Leader. Iran does not back down from its rights, whether in defense or in diplomacy. You are facing a different nation; do not bring further disgrace upon yourselves with your incoherent rants.”

 

The responses came after Donald Trump made statements on Monday claiming he would prefer to reach a deal with Iran because he does not “want the lives of 91 million people to be affected.” Trump also reiterated threats targeting Iran’s civilian infrastructure.
