WANA (Nov 19) – The 12th International Defense Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) hosted by Pakistan, with the participation of 55 countries, including a delegation from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has opened in the port city of Karachi.

The opening ceremony of the largest defense and arms exhibition was held at the Karachi Expo Center in Sindh province, southern Pakistan, with the presence of Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistan’s Defense Minister, and heads of participating delegations.

The Iranian Armed Forces delegation, led by Brigadier General Dr. Mojtaba Ramazanzadeh, along with Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, and Hassan Nourian, Iran’s Consul General in Karachi, participated in this international event.

For the first time, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s pavilion has been established at Pakistan’s largest international defense exhibition to showcase the country’s military achievements, including indigenous developments in defense, aerospace, and electronic warfare industries.

This year’s IDEAS exhibition theme is “Arms for Peace: Global Cooperation and Strategic Partnership”, organized primarily by Pakistan’s Defense Export Promotion Organization (DEPO). It features participation from major defense and arms-producing nations.

The international event, which was previously held biennially, was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The inaugural IDEAS exhibition took place in the year 2000.
