WANA (Aug 27) – Masoud Pezeshkian and the members of Iran’s 14th government met with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei.

This was the first meeting between the 14th government and Ayatollah Khamenei.

During the meeting, the Supreme Leader emphasized several important points, such as addressing urgent priorities like inflation and high prices, the selection of managers and collaborators, engaging directly with the people, the need for regulated governance in cyberspace, and focusing on production as the key to solving economic problems.

Ayatollah Khamenei stated, “The President consulted with me regarding the selection of ministers. I approved some, emphasized others, and for many, I had no opinion as I was not familiar with them.”

The Leader also noted, “Relying on expert advice is the essence of wise governance. Choose experts who are not dependent on outdated foreign models.”

Addressing the members of the 14th government, the Leader said, “Make sure to be among the people and go on provincial trips. Don’t pay attention to those who label you as populist.”

Regarding cyberspace, he added, “There must be regulated governance in cyberspace. Every country in the world enacts laws for the internet; you saw how the French arrested and threatened that poor young man (Pavel Durov). If cyberspace is regulated, it will become an opportunity.”

In the meeting, President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that the members of the 14th government are committed to principles such as justice and fairness. He highlighted “addressing underprivileged areas” and “paying attention to those who are often overlooked” as two key objectives of his administration. He stated, “The first step towards reforming the country is unity, solidarity, and adherence to divine guidance under the leadership’s direction so that we can stand against all challenges and our enemies.”

Pezeshkian added, “The people’s satisfaction with officials depends on their ‘fair and respectful’ behaviour, not on the enemies’ unjust sanctions.”

In conclusion, the President stressed that if unity is achieved within the country and among the Islamic community, the United States, Europe, and other countries that unjustly support the crimes of the genocidal Zionist regime will be defeated.
