25th Royan International Congress and Festival Kicks Off in Tehran
WANA (Aug 28) – The 25th Royan International Congress and Festival, featuring three specialized medical science congresses and the 6th Dr. Kazemi Award, has officially commenced at Shahid Beheshti University’s Conference Center.
The event has attracted scientists and researchers from Iran and 14 other countries. This year’s Royan Congress and Festival will run from today, Wednesday, August 28, 2024, for three days. It includes the 25th International Congress on Reproductive Medicine, the 20th International Congress on Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine, and the 19th Nursing and Midwifery Seminar.
The event will feature presentations from 33 international scholars from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, China, Russia, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, Qatar, and India. Presentations and workshops at the International Congresses on Reproductive Medicine and Stem Cell Technology will be conducted in English, while the Nursing and Midwifery Seminar will be held in Persian.
This year, the 6th Dr. Kazemi Ashtiani Award has been jointly awarded to two distinguished scientists. Professor Thomas Brown, a leading expert in stem cell research from Germany, and Nicholas Rivron, a pioneering scientist in embryo development from Austria, are the recipients. Professor Brown delivered the keynote opening address at the congress, while Rivron participated online.

The Royan International Congress has been an annual scientific event since 2000, held every September in Tehran. Initially focused on reproductive science, the congress expanded in 2005 to include stem cell research, maintaining a simultaneous schedule with the reproductive medicine conference.
