WANA (June 14)—Nichirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, met and talked with Ali Bagheri, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, and the accompanying delegation in Erbil.

 

Nichirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, this Friday (June 14, 2024) in the city of Erbil, welcomed Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri and the accompanying delegation in a meeting about the importance of the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq and the region Kurdistan emphasized based on good neighborliness and common interests;

 

Both sides also called for strengthening their relations, especially in the fields of trade and commerce.

 

In another part of this meeting, “Ali Bagheri” from the Kurdistan Region officials thanked and expressed appreciation for the cooperation and ease of the journey of Iranian pilgrims who travel to holy places in southern Iraq through the Kurdistan Region’s official borders.

 

In a show of mutual appreciation, Nichirvan Barzani expressed gratitude for Iran’s cooperation and support for Iraq and the Kurdistan region while emphasizing the importance of maintaining solid and valuable relations between the two sides. This exchange of appreciation further solidified the positive nature of the meeting and the potential for future cooperation.

The meeting also delved into the region’s situation, discussing several important and valuable common issues. This detailed discussion provided a glimpse into the agenda and the shared concerns of the parties involved.
