WANA (June 23) – Tehran Chief Justice asks court to order U.S. to pay over 2.3 billion dollars for Washington’s involvement in Ahwaz terrorist attack in 2018.

 

The Chief Justice of Tehran province says U.S. and its officials should pay compensation for the deceased persons, moral damages as well as punitive damages. Ali Al-Qasi says the officials are formally notified and the court is scheduled to be held next month. On 22 September 2018, a military parade was attacked by armed gunmen in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz.

 

The shooters killed 25 people, including soldiers of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) and civilian bystanders. The terrorist group, “Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz” known as Al-Ahwaziya claimed responsibility for the attack.

 

Also, in case related to butterfly disease patients (Epidermolysis bullosa, EB), Al-Qasi said lawyers asked the court to order U.S. government officials to pay nearly 7 billion dollars of compensation. It is believed that Washington led sanctions have caused these patients to suffer more.
