WANA ( July 03) – Iran has emphasized on the need of assuring psychological and physical security of its citizens abroad by the host country as they vote in 2024 snap presidential election.

 

Chief of foreign election headquarters said Tehran has renewed efforts to ensure safety of voters abroad. This comes after several anti-Iran activists harassed voters in number of countries and prevented Iranian nationals from voting.

 

In some cases, the offenders were arrested by host countries police. Iran’s judiciary has also said it will prosecute those offenders.

 

According to Iran’s foreign election headquarters Iranian nationals can cast their ballot at 344 polling stations in 138 countries across the globe. The regulatory body has also said the official results of vote counting in foreign countries will only be announced by the interior ministry.
