Iranian and Iraqi Interior Ministers Visit Shalamcheh Border for Arbaeen Coordination
WANA (July 12) – Iran’s Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi and Iraq’s Interior Minister Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari visited the Shalamcheh border terminals in both countries today to coordinate and implement necessary measures for facilitating the movement and services for Arbaeen pilgrims, and to review the current conditions.
Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari was welcomed at the Shalamcheh border crossing by Ahmad Vahidi.
The ministers then discussed the latest coordination and necessary actions regarding the movement and transportation of pilgrims, passport services, and the establishment of Mawkibs on both sides of the Shalamcheh border.
It is noteworthy that the governors of Khuzestan and Basra, the Deputy Minister of Interior for Security and Law Enforcement, the Head of the Central Arbaeen Committee, and several security officials and local authorities from both countries were present during the visit.
