WANA (July 15) – The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson praised the views expressed by Iran’s President-elect in an article about relations with China, emphasizing the importance of friendly relations and strategic partnership between the two countries.

 

Lin Jian, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, responded to President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian’s article titled “My Message to the World,” in which Pezeshkian outlined his perspective on relations with regional countries, Africa, China, Russia, Europe, and the United States. Lin Jian stated, “China appreciates Masoud Pezeshkian’s message regarding Iran-China relations.”

 

President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian wrote in his article: “The 25-year roadmap between Iran and China was a significant step towards establishing a mutually beneficial ‘comprehensive strategic partnership,’ and we are eager to expand our cooperation with Beijing as we approach a new world order.”

 

Pezeshkian noted, “In 2023, the Chinese government played a crucial role in facilitating the normalization of our relations with Saudi Arabia, thereby demonstrating its constructive vision and forward-looking approach in international affairs.”

 

During a press conference, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, whose detailed remarks were published on the ministry’s website, stated: “The history of friendly interactions between our countries spans several centuries.

 

Our bilateral relations have seen steady and positive growth over the past 50 years since establishing diplomatic relations. China and Iran have supported each other, stood together in facing complex international and regional landscapes, enhanced mutual strategic trust, expanded interactions and cooperation in various fields, and maintained good communication and coordination on regional and international issues, benefiting both countries and contributing to regional and international peace and stability.”

 

The spokesperson added, “China highly values its relationship with Iran and is ready to work with the new Iranian government to develop the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Iran sustainably.”
