Oil Minister: Gas Deal with Russia a Diplomatic Masterstroke
WANA (July 17) – The Minister of Oil described the signing of the contract with the Russian side regarding gas transfer as a masterpiece of energy diplomacy.
Iran’s Oil Minister Owji stated on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting: “The stable fuel supply for power plants and fuel stations across the country has been secured, and we have no issues in this regard. 265 million liters of liquid fuel are distributed, with an annual value of approximately $67 billion.”
Owji noted: “Less than a month ago, the documents for transferring Russian gas to Iran were signed between Russia’s Gazprom and the National Iranian Gas Company. A significant portion of Russian gas, after being transferred to Iran, will be used for domestic consumption and exports from Iran to regional countries.”
The Minister of Oil continued: “This contract ensures energy security for the countries in the region.”
Owji described the signing of this contract with the Russian side as a masterpiece of energy diplomacy and said: “God willing, this contract will lead to an economic and industrial revolution and make the neighboring countries’ energy security dependent on the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
