WANA (July 24) – The Iranian Space Agency has announced its 2024 agenda, which includes international and domestic space exploration initiatives. Internationally, the focus will be on advancing lunar exploration programs. Domestically, the agency plans to design and build a 500-kilogram capsule with GNC capabilities, a 1500-kilogram capsule with GNC capabilities, and prototypes for lunar rovers, orbiters, and exploratory payloads.

 

Additionally, the agency will develop a space observation system, establish a launch base, complete ground stations in Salmas and Chenaran, and design and construct a maritime station to enhance space infrastructure.

 

The head of the Iranian Space Agency, Hasan Salariah, mentioned that the “Saman” orbital transfer block and a research satellite will be launched in August. Also, “Tolou 3” and “Zafar 2” satellites will be launched in December and January using foreign launchers, contributing to 6 to 8 launches this year.

 

The “Pars 2” remote sensing satellite, with imaging precision of 8 and 4 meters, is under construction and will be unveiled this year. We have also planned radar satellites “Rad 1” with 50-meter precision and “Rad 2” with 20-meter precision, he stated.
