WANA (July 29) – The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has stated the entry of women into stadiums in Iran. FIFA noted that since 2018, women have been present at international matches in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This was followed by their attendance at league matches in Tehran and, eventually, throughout Iran. According to the latest reports, women attended nearly half of the past season’s Iranian Premier League matches and stadiums.

FIFA further stated that dialogue with the Iranian Football Federation and authorities is ongoing. This issue is regularly discussed at all levels in FIFA’s conversations with the Iranian Football Federation.

Over the past years, our discussions with the Iranian Football Federation have been constructive. The federation has fulfilled many of its commitments and has gradually improved women’s access to stadiums across the country.
