UN Secretary-General Eager to Collaborate with Iran’s New President
WANA (July 30) – Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, sent a message to Masoud Pezeshkian, congratulating him on his election as the President of Iran and expressing readiness to cooperate with the new Iranian government.
In his message, Guterres expressed joy over Pezeshkian’s election as the new President of Iran, stating that both the United Nations and he personally look forward to collaborating with the new Iranian administration.
The UN Secretary-General highlighted Iran’s significant role in the region, urging Pezeshkian to help resolve regional crises and prevent new conflicts that could pose threats to both the region and beyond.
Guterres also emphasized the UN’s commitment to continuously supporting Iran’s efforts in achieving sustainable development goals.
Wishing Pezeshkian success in his new mission, the UN Secretary-General acknowledged that he relies on the new Iranian President to advance the values and ideals enshrined in the UN Charter.
