First Reaction from Masoud Pezeshkian to the Assassination of Ismail Haniyeh

WANA  (July 31) – The President of Iran reacted to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh by posting on the social media platform X.

In response to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’ political bureau, in Tehran, Pezeshkian wrote on X:

“Today, beloved Iran mourns its partner in sorrow and joy, its constant and proud companion in the path of resistance, the brave leader of the Palestinian resistance, Martyr of Jerusalem, Hajj Ismail Haniyeh. Yesterday, I raised his victorious hand, and today I must carry him on my shoulders.

Martyrdom is the art of the men of God. The bond between the two proud nations of Iran and Palestine will grow stronger than ever, and the path of resistance and defense of the oppressed will be pursued with more vigor than ever. The Islamic Republic of Iran will defend its territorial integrity, honor, and dignity, and will make the cowardly occupiers regret their actions.
