WANA  (July 31) –The new statement from the IRGC regarding the assassination of Martyr Ismail Haniyeh is as follows:

 

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

 

Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance], and they have not altered [the terms of their commitment] in any way. (Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:23)

 

As previously informed to the noble and great nation of Islamic Iran, all Islamic nations, and the proud fighters of the resistance front, in the early hours of Wednesday, July 31, 2024, the great Mujahid, Dr. Ismail Haniyeh, esteemed head of Hamas’s political bureau, along with one of his brave bodyguards, was martyred in a terrorist attack by the cowardly and criminal Zionist regime at his residence in Tehran.

 

Martyr Haniyeh was one of the prominent figures among approximately 110 foreign delegations invited by the esteemed Islamic Consultative Assembly to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the 14th President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 

Over the past years, especially after the historic “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation, he has made several visits to our country.

 

This crime demonstrated that the criminal, murderous, and terrorist Zionist gang, disregarding international rules and regulations, spares no criminal act to cover up the disgraceful defeats of the nine-month war in Gaza, which resulted in the massacre of tens of thousands of Palestinian women, men, and children.

 

Undoubtedly, this heinous act by the Zionist regime will be met with a severe and painful response from the powerful and grand resistance front, especially from Islamic Iran. The blessings of the martyrdom of “Al-Quds Martyr” Dr. Ismail Haniyeh, defending the goals and rights of the Palestinian people, will continue.

 

While strongly condemning this heinous and criminal act, we offer our condolences and congratulations on the martyrdom of the esteemed commander of Hamas and, the Palestinian Islamic resistance and his brave bodyguard.

 

The appreciative and revolutionary people of Iran are hereby informed that the details of the funeral ceremonies for these precious martyrs will be announced by the “Islamic Propaganda Coordination Council.”
