WANA (August 03) – Religious minorities in Iran criticized the controversial opening of the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Pastor Sahak Khosravian stated that 85% of the global Christian community condemned the offensive display, resulting in the removal of the opening images and videos from virtual platforms.

He emphasized that France has a distant relationship with religion and rituals, stating that the disrespectful actions not only insult the prophets but also the sacred symbols of these religions, regardless of whether one adheres to any religion.

Pastor Khosravian believes that while many think France is a Christian society, recent events refute this claim. He asserts that France is anti-Christian and even anti-human due to its programming based on Freemasonry, suggesting that heinous acts at the Olympics were not far off.

A member of the clerical assembly of the Armenian Caliphate Council of Tehran highlighted France’s recent anti-religious actions. The assembly member mentioned that the Prophet of Islam was insulted in Charlie Hebdo’s publication, followed by mockery of Jewish holy things.

The assembly member emphasized the importance of not staying silent in the face of insults to any creed and religion, as it may lead to further disrespect of religions by those who claim to champion human rights.

In response to the protests from Islamic countries regarding the insult to Christianity at the 2024 Olympics, he clarified, “It is true that different religions have differing opinions, but when religions are insulted, they come together and do not allow this behavior to continue.”

Regarding Trump’s protest against the controversial opening of the Paris Olympics, Pastor Khosravian noted that Trump’s protest was influenced by the existing political atmosphere and was likely due to the upcoming elections. During the Olympic opening ceremony, there was a child dressed in yellow in the Last Supper scene, which sparked significant controversy and protests due to concerns about child abuse.

A member of the clerical assembly of the Armenian Caliphate Council of Tehran stated that gays and lesbians were acknowledged at the opening of the Olympics. They insinuated that homosexuals have rights, while in Christianity, homosexuality is considered a heinous act.

Referring to the Olympics opening in Paris 100 years ago, Pastor Khosravian said, “The opening was well-executed that year, but it is unclear whether the French have changed their approach since then.

During the Olympic opening, they displayed an apocalyptic approach and the beginning of the freemasonry phase. However, the designer later apologized for it. Nonetheless, such a ceremony indicated France’s approach at that time.”
