Iran Secures 32nd Spot in Global Research Rankings
WANA (August 05) – According to the Islamic World Science and Technology Citation and Monitoring Institute (ISC), Dr. Seyyed Ahmad Fazelzadeh, the president of ISC, announced the release of the annual research leaders report by the Nature Index.
This report includes data collected from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023. In this report, the Islamic Republic of Iran has achieved the 32nd position among countries worldwide. The Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences, the University of Tehran, and the Sharif University of Technology have secured the top three spots.
The Nature Index evaluates high-quality research and collaborations, providing information on articles published in reputable journals in natural sciences and health sciences.
In the 2024 Nature Index report, Iran recorded 285 articles with a share of 115.77, placing it 32nd globally. In subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Health Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, and Biological Sciences, Iran’s best performance was in Physics, where it ranked 28th. Iran’s performance in these fields is as follows:
– Physics: Rank 28, Share of Articles 69.16, Number of Articles 171
– Chemistry: Rank 29, Share of Articles 34.46, Number of Articles 53
– Health Sciences: Rank 42, Share of Articles 8.66, Number of Articles 39
– Earth and Environmental Sciences: Rank 52, Share of Articles 2.91, Number of Articles 12
– Biological Sciences: Rank 58, Share of Articles 2.97, Number of Articles 28
The report features 107 Iranian organizations, with 86 being of an academic nature. The performance of the top 20 organizations in the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 2024 Nature Index is detailed in the accompanying table.
