WANA (Aug 22) – In his first foreign interview with Japan’s Kyodo News, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi stated that Iran is seeking to manage tensions with Washington and rebuild relations with European countries, but under certain conditions.

On Wednesday, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, told Kyodo News that the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is looking to manage tensions with Washington and rebuild relations with European countries as a decisive step towards lifting economic sanctions on Iran and returning to normal trade relations within the international community.

However, this will only happen if they abandon their hostile approach and make efforts to revive the 2015 nuclear deal and lift sanctions.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that in his foreign policy speech to the Islamic Consultative Assembly, he stressed the goal of lifting sanctions, especially unilateral ones, through serious, focused, and time-bound negotiations while adhering to fundamental principles.
