WANA (Aug 24) – In a meeting between the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Vietnam’s Minister of Public Security, both countries expressed a desire to expand and strengthen bilateral relations.

Ali Akbar Nazari, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam, met with Luong Tam Quang, the Minister of Public Security of Vietnam.

Quang emphasized the importance of implementing the signed agreements between the two countries and expressed readiness to finalize the ongoing cooperation documents. He called for cooperation between the two countries in the areas of cybercrime, transnational organized crime, and counterterrorism, given Iran’s valuable experiences.

He also highlighted the significant role of delegations in expanding and deepening the relations between the two countries and expressed his appreciation for the invitation to visit Iran at an appropriate time.

It is worth noting that Quang was appointed as Minister of Public Security two months ago, replacing To Lam, the current Secretary-General of the Communist Party and President of Vietnam. Last week, he was also elected as a member of the Communist Party’s Politburo, the highest decision-making body in the ruling party.
