WANA (Aug 24) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, in a phone call with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto, highlighted Venezuela’s special status in Iran’s foreign policy and reaffirmed Iran’s strategic focus on Latin America, particularly Venezuela, under the new administration.

 

Gil Pinto congratulated Araghchi on his appointment and expressed confidence that both nations will prioritize the implementation of bilateral agreements and cooperation under the new government.

 

He conveyed warm regards and congratulations from Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and reaffirmed Venezuela’s commitment to advancing relations with Iran.

 

Araghchi thanked Maduro and Gil Pinto for their congratulations and emphasized Venezuela’s significant role in Iran’s foreign policy.

 

He also condemned any external interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs, following messages of support for Maduro’s re-election.

 

Both foreign ministers expressed their readiness to exchange high-level delegations and continue discussions to advance bilateral relations and explore new areas of cooperation.
