WANA (Aug 26) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, emphasized during a discussion with his Italian counterpart that Iran’s response to the Zionist regime’s terrorist act of assassinating Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’ political bureau in Tehran, will be certain, precise, and calculated.

In a series of posts on the social media platform X, Araghchi provided an update on his recent two-day consultations with his counterparts.

Araghchi wrote: “Yesterday and today, the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia called to congratulate me. Moving towards a ‘strong and united region’ through dialogue, cooperation, synergy, and solidarity with regional countries is a priority of the fourteenth government’s foreign policy.”

He continued: “The Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia also called to congratulate me yesterday and today. The Caucasus region holds geopolitical and strategic importance for the Islamic Republic of Iran. The historical, cultural, and geographical ties with the countries in this region make the expansion of relations even more crucial.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister further mentioned: “Today, Antonio Tajani, the Italian Foreign Minister, called to congratulate me. We had a detailed discussion about the region. I told him that Iran’s response to the Zionist regime’s terrorist act in Tehran is inevitable. This response will be precise and calculated. Unlike the Zionist regime, Iran is not looking to escalate tensions, although it does not fear them.”
