Iran’s Localization of Catalysts for the Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Industries
WANA (Aug 27) – A knowledge-based Iranian company has made significant strides in reducing raw material exports and advancing downstream processing by producing strategic products required for the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
This knowledge-based company NITEL Pars Engineering has taken substantial steps to reduce raw material exports and enhance downstream capabilities by providing essential products for the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors.
Established in 2008, it was founded with the goal of localizing the technology for manufacturing adsorbents, catalysts, and chemical materials essential for these industries. Today, it stands as a leading pioneer in this field.
NITEL Pars’s factory, located in the Shiraz Special Economic Zone, has been developed in four phases. The first phase, which began in 2015, involved deploying automatic and manual production lines, successfully producing molecular sieves and activated alumina.
The subsequent phase included the launch of an anti-foam production line with an annual capacity of 3,000 liters, resulting in the creation of high-quality products.
Farshid Noorbakhsh, the CEO of NITEL Pars, emphasized the critical role of catalysts in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. He announced that the company has successfully implemented a project for the production of heterogeneous catalysts with an annual capacity of 15,000 tons, backed by an investment of 11,000 billion Rials.
Noorbasch further explained that NITEL Pars is engaged in producing various types of molecular sieve adsorbents, catalysts, activated and reinforced alumina, and silicone-based anti-foams and provides laboratory and engineering services.
The company’s products are utilized in a wide range of applications, including the dehydration of hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon gas and liquid streams, drying of refrigerant gases and solvents, production of high-purity oxygen, removal of CO₂, CO, H₂S, and mercaptans, separation of iso and normal paraffin, and dehydration of industrial gases and air.
Through these achievements, NITEL Pars has not only strengthened domestic capabilities in critical industries but has also contributed to reducing dependence on imports and enhancing the quality of domestically produced products.
