WANA (Aug 28) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi spoke with Khalil al-Hayya, a senior Hamas political bureau member and head of the group’s Arab and Islamic relations. The discussion focused on the current situation in the region.

 

During the call, Khalil al-Hayya provided an update on the latest developments in the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza. He also discussed the recent atrocities committed by the Israeli regime in the occupied territories and their ongoing efforts to alter the status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

 

He expressed gratitude for the efforts of Iran’s late FM Amir-Abdollahian in supporting the Palestinian resistance, emphasizing that the Palestinian people deeply appreciate the Islamic Republic of Iran’s unwavering support for their cause and their resistance against Israeli crimes. Al-Hayya also congratulated Araghchi on his appointment as Iran’s Foreign Minister.

 

Araghchi, in response, thanked Khalil al-Hayya for his call and congratulations. He reaffirmed that the Iranian government’s commitment to supporting the oppressed people of Palestine and their resistance will remain strong and steadfast during the administration’s fourteenth term.

 

The Foreign Minister further stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran will support any ceasefire agreement and end to the war in Gaza that is acceptable to the resilient people of Palestine, the resistance groups, and Hamas.

 

Araghchi praised the 11-month-long resilience of the people of Gaza and the resistance fighters in the face of Israeli crimes. He expressed confidence that the ultimate victory belongs to the Palestinian people and assured that Iran will stand by them until the end.
