WANA (Sep 03) – The 2024 Switzerland Global Inventions Competition, organized by the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), took place in Geneva, and an Iranian student secured the competition’s silver.

 

The event featured innovations from 40 countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia, Morocco, Indonesia, Turkey, Iran, and Russia. It showcased 600 inventions across 15 categories: engineering, computer science, agriculture, environment, chemistry, biology, and medicine.

 

Heshamtollah Nourizadeh, a PhD student in Electrical Power Engineering at Shahid Abbaspour Faculty of Engineering, Shahid Beheshti University, secured the silver medal at this competition. Nourizadeh’s project, a system for monitoring and assessing the status of distribution network cables, earned recognition for its innovation.

 

Previously, Nourizadeh had won gold and a special award at the 2024 National Robotics and Mechatronics Olympiad.
