WANA (Sep 10) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote, “The spread of false news regarding the transfer of Iranian weapons to certain countries is aimed at concealing the vast illegal Western military support for the genocide in Gaza.”

Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated, “Despite claims of advocating peace and verbal opposition by American officials to escalating tensions in West Asia, the U.S. government’s military support for the war crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza and the West Bank has continued uninterrupted and on a large scale.”

The Iranian diplomatic spokesperson wrote on the social media platform X: “At the same time that the news of the arrival of the 500th American aircraft carrying various deadly weapons to the airports of the Zionist regime was published—reportedly amounting to over 50,000 tons of aid—it was announced that the number of victims of the genocide of the oppressed Palestinian people over the past 11 months has reached 41,000, with around 70% of the victims being innocent women and children.”

He emphasized, “According to newly released statistics, the Zionist regime has dropped an average of 36 kilograms of bombs and missiles on each Palestinian living in Gaza, which sets a global record for brutality and savagery, unprecedented even compared to the most ruthless regimes in human history.”

Kanaani continued, stating, “Some other European and Western countries, which like the U.S. government, present themselves as champions of human rights globally and advocates for the implementation of international conventions and treaties, have also contributed to the genocide and war crimes of the Zionist regime over the past eleven months by sending various bombs and lethal weapons.”

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed, “There is no doubt that the continued supply of weapons and the reinforcement of the Zionist regime’s machinery of genocide and war crimes by the U.S. and some Western countries is in direct violation of the clear obligations of the international community to prevent and punish perpetrators of genocide in accordance with the 1948 Genocide Convention. According to this convention, countries bear clear responsibilities to prevent genocide, punish its perpetrators, and ensure that their weapons are not used for such crimes.”

Referring to accusations against Iran regarding the transfer of weapons to Russia for use in the Ukraine war, he wrote, “The dissemination of false and misleading reports about the transfer of Iranian weapons to certain countries is merely a disgraceful propaganda move and a lie aimed at concealing the extensive illegal military support by the U.S. and some Western countries for genocide in Gaza.”

Kanaani concluded by emphasizing, “Such fabrications should not divert the global community’s attention from their responsibility to work towards stopping the Zionist regime’s war crimes and mass killings and holding its supporters accountable.”
