WANA (Sep 18) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Israel’s recent terrorist attack in Lebanon, which targeted Lebanese citizens through the explosion of communication systems (pagers). The spokesperson, Nasser Kanaani, labelled the attack as an instance of “mass killing” and denounced it in the strongest terms.

Kanaani stated, “Today’s terrorist operation in Lebanon is part of Israel’s ongoing combined operations with its mercenary agents. It contradicts all ethical and humanitarian principles, international law, especially humanitarian law, and warrants international criminal prosecution, trial, and punishment.”

He added, “This combined terrorist act, which is essentially an attempt at mass killing, clearly demonstrates once again that Israel, in addition to committing war crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people, poses a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.”

Kanaani emphasized the urgent need to combat terrorist actions against the regime and the associated threats, calling on the international community to take swift action against the impunity of Israeli criminal officials.

Expressing solidarity with the Lebanese government, people, and resistance movement, as well as the families of the victims and injured from this terrorist attack, Kanaani extended wishes for the swift recovery of all injured, including Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon. He reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to assist the Lebanese government and its people.
