WANA (Sep 18) – Following the recent terrorist attack in Lebanon, the Iranian Red Crescent has dispatched medical teams to Beirut to assist the injured. Iran’s president of the Red Crescent, Pir Hossein Koulivand, condemned the attack and expressed commitment to support the victims.

 

Koulivand, who arrived in Beirut today, stated that teams of emergency responders and ophthalmologists have been sent to provide relief. Coordination with the Lebanese Ministry of Health and the Red Cross aims to offer humanitarian aid and surgical care. He added that if necessary, critically injured patients will be transported to Iran for further treatment.

 

Recent reports indicate that Pir Hossein Koulivand, visited hospitals in Beirut to monitor the treatment of victims injured in the recent terrorist attack involving the explosion of communication devices.

 

During his visit, Koulivand, accompanied by a team of medical and emergency responders, reviewed the ongoing care and recovery process for the injured.

 

The condition of the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon, Amani, who was reported to be injured in this terror attack, is also to be stable. Koulivand mentioned that some severe cases might be flown to Tehran, while specialized eye surgeons will remain in Beirut to perform surgeries as needed.

 

The Red Crescent’s emergency response team includes 12 doctors 12 nurses and paramedics. Their deployment followed an urgent meeting and coordination with the Iranian Ministry of Health and Foreign Affairs, as well as Lebanese officials. The attack, which involved the explosion of communication devices, resulted in 11 deaths and over 2,000 injuries.
