WANA (Sep 19) – The hacker group “Hanzala” claims to have obtained highly confidential information through recent large-scale cyberattacks. They announced plans to release all related documents in the coming hours.

The attack was reportedly carried out by contaminating pager batteries with a heat-sensitive explosive material during the supply chain process in the manufacturing country.

The Israeli Industrial Batteries (IIB) company, based in Nahariya, Israel, is alleged to have contaminated the batteries, which were then transported to the manufacturer country under the supervision of Mossad.

Mossad is said to have played a central role in the operation, overseeing the transfer of the compromised batteries. Due to the sensitivity of explosive detection devices to these batteries, and the need for them to be moved across multiple countries, Mossad collaborated with Vidisco, a company specializing in X-ray machines used in airports and ports worldwide.

Vidisco, a subsidiary of Israel’s Unit 8200, is accused of including a backdoor in its machines that provides access to Unit 8200 and the Israeli government.

After passing through several countries, the contaminated shipments reportedly reached Lebanon, facilitated by Vidisco’s involvement.

This operation, if true, highlights the potential for everyday technologies to be manipulated for covert and dangerous purposes.
