WANA (Sep 20) – Seyed Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has departed for New York to attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

 

Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, is also set to travel to New York next Sunday, which corresponds to the 1st of Mehr, to participate in this year’s General Assembly session.

 

Araqchi’s agenda in New York includes attending several UN meetings and holding bilateral and multilateral talks.

 

Previously, the Iranian Foreign Minister elaborated on President Pezeshkian’s trip to New York, stating, “We have always utilized the UN platform, and bilateral and multilateral meetings at the UN present a valuable opportunity for international engagement.”

 

According to the head of Iran’s diplomatic corps, President Pezeshkian’s schedule includes meetings with Iranians and followers of divine religions, interactions with officials from various countries, interviews with media outlets and think tanks, and a speech at the UN General Assembly.
