WANA (Sep 25) – The head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, Mohammad Reza Rezvanifar, announced that the volume of Iran’s non-oil trade with 15 neighbouring countries reached $32.6 billion in the first six months of the current year.

 

Rezvanifar stated that during this period, the total weight of Iran’s non-oil trade with these neighbouring countries reached 50 million tons.

 

Highlighting the notable increase compared to last year, he added that this trade volume grew by 5% in weight and 15% in value compared to the previous year’s period.

 

The Customs chief explained that of the total non-oil trade, 39 million tons, valued at $15.6 billion, were exports, while 11 million tons, valued at $17 billion, were imports.

 

Rezvanifar also noted that non-oil exports to the 15 neighbouring countries increased by 4% in weight and 12% in value compared to the previous year. He added that imports from these countries showed an 8% increase in weight and an 18% rise in value compared to the first half of last year.

 

In conclusion, he identified Iran’s main trading partners among these 15 neighbouring countries, stating that the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan, and the Russian Federation have been recognized as the most significant trade partners during this period.
