WANA (Oct 02) – The spokesperson for the 14th government of Iran stated that maintaining peace and calm for the people and society is the first and foremost priority of the government. People should feel assured that the action taken was in defense of the country.

Fatemeh Mohajerani said: “Iran’s military response last night was carried out within the framework of international law and national interests. This action revived national pride and strengthened our Iranian-Islamic identity. The operation was executed swiftly, but enemy media emphasized its failure, which is a typical reaction. Many of the missiles hit their designated targets. I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to our military and law enforcement colleagues for their efforts.”

The government spokesperson continued: “In today’s meeting, a report on the attacks and the measures taken regarding last night’s actions was presented. The first and most important intention of the government is to maintain calm for the people and society. The public should rest assured that the action taken was in defense of the country. Our president is someone who has been on the front lines of the Sacred Defense for many years. The Islamic Republic of Iran has always acted within a framework of peace and is a peace-loving country. However, whenever someone tries to overstep against Iran and its interests or harm the dignity of the Islamic Republic, they should rest assured that the brave people of Iran will not allow it.”

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting, Fatemeh Mohajerani added: “Let us not forget that the government is part of the governing system, and when the system makes a decision, the government is fully aligned with it. Part of this decision was implemented with the full coordination and support of the government.”

The spokesperson emphasized: “We have no interest in escalating war. The dear people should be aware that Iran’s approach is one of defense, and we are the most resolute when it comes to defense. Just as we demonstrated during the eight-year war, we will never allow even an inch of our land or the dignity of Iran to be tarnished. We have the same approach in this case.”

She clarified: “The people saw that after the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh, Iran exercised restraint for two months. Despite the high demand from the public, no response was given because Iran wanted peace to be declared in Gaza and the blood of innocent people not to be shed. In fact, it was the Zionist regime that fueled this situation, and naturally, the right to defend ourselves was preserved.”
