WANA (Oct 03) – In response to the recent summoning of Iranian ambassadors in Germany and Austria due to Iran’s missile attacks on Israel, Marcus Pootzel, the German ambassador, and Dietrich Haim, the Austrian ambassador, were separately summoned to Iran’s Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, the Director-General for Western Europe emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is fully committed to defending its security. He stated, “The actions of Iran’s armed forces are in line with the principle of self-defense, as outlined in Article 51 of the UN Charter, following two months of restraint aimed at establishing and ensuring lasting security in the region.”

The Director-General condemned the supportive positions of certain European countries toward Israel, asserting, “We believe that if European parties had taken effective and practical measures, such as halting financial and military support, they could have prevented the ongoing atrocities and genocide perpetrated by the Israeli regime.”

The ambassadors of Germany and Austria indicated that they would relay the discussions back to their respective capitals.
