Qalibaf: The Israeli regime is preventing flights for aid delivery to Lebanon
WANA (Oct 13) – In a meeting with the Speaker of the UAE Parliament, the Iranian Speaker of Parliament stated that the Israeli regime is blocking flights intended for delivering aid to Lebanon, calling this behavior completely savage and inhumane. He emphasized that all regional countries have a duty in this regard.
During his meeting with Saqr Ghobash, the Speaker of the UAE Parliament, on the sidelines of the meeting of the Speakers of Islamic Parliaments (PUIC) in Geneva, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf noted that the current regional situation necessitates stronger relations between regional countries in economic, political, defense, and security matters more than ever.
The Iranian Parliament Speaker added that the expansion of these relationships is crucial, especially in light of the tragic events in the region, including Lebanon and Palestine, and the crimes of the Israeli regime, which have destabilized the region.
Referring to his visit to Geneva following his trip to Beirut, where he met with Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, and Najib Mikati, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Qalibaf said: “Today, the people of Lebanon, including Muslims—both Shia and Sunni—Christians, and Jews, are in more need of assistance than ever. Despite the ongoing crimes of the Israeli regime in Lebanon, it is also preventing flights from delivering aid to Lebanon, which is completely savage and inhumane. Therefore, we, as regional countries, have a duty in this regard.”
Speaker of the UAE Parliament: Regional countries must wisely avert crises to avoid a full-scale war.
In this meeting, Ghobash said that through the development of bilateral relations, agreements on other regional and international issues can also be reached.
The Speaker of the UAE Parliament expressed concern over the ongoing situation in Palestine, stating that if the current conditions persist, there is a fear of a full-scale war in the region. Therefore, regional countries must act with wisdom and prudence to distance the region from the looming crisis and prevent future crises as well.
He also called for a swift meeting between the parliamentary friendship groups of the UAE and Iran to further develop parliamentary relations.
In conclusion, Ghobash noted that the current volume of trade between the UAE and Iran has become quite significant, expressing hope that Iran would take further steps in other projects that benefit the interests of both countries.
