WANA (Oct 14) – On Monday evening, the foreign ministers of Iran and China had a phone conversation regarding recent developments in the West Asia region. This discussion took place prior to the departure of Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, from Oman.

 

During the call, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the importance of the strategic relations between the two countries and underscored the need to intensify diplomatic efforts with regional and international parties to prevent further escalation of tensions and insecurity in the region.

 

Iran’s foreign minister expressed appreciation for China’s efforts to stop the violence by the Israeli regime in Gaza and Lebanon, describing the UN Security Council’s failure due to U.S. obstruction as catastrophic.

 

The conversation also included discussions on bilateral relations and the meeting of the presidents of Iran and China on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan.
