Iran’s Air Defense Statement Following Israeli Airstrike
WANA (Oct 26) – Following reports of unusual sounds in the skies over some Iranian provinces in the early hours of Saturday, Iran’s Air Defense Command issued an official statement:
“The honorable people of Iran are hereby informed that, despite repeated warnings from the officials of the Islamic Republic to the criminal and illegitimate Zionist regime to avoid any provocative actions, this fabricated regime carried out an aggressive operation early this morning, targeting military sites in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam.
These actions were successfully intercepted and countered by the country’s integrated air defense system. While minimal damage was incurred in certain areas, a comprehensive assessment of the incident is underway.
We urge the public to maintain unity and calm and to follow updates on these incidents through national media, disregarding rumors propagated by hostile outlets.”
Earlier, an initial statement had also been issued following the sounds heard over Tehran’s skies:
“According to Tehran Province’s Air Defense Public Relations Officer, the sounds were linked to air defense responses at three locations outside Tehran. Details are under investigation.”
