In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime against several military sites in Iran as a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, particularly the principle of prohibiting threats or the use of force against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of countries.

As has been emphasized numerous times by competent authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iran considers itself entitled and obliged to defend against foreign aggressive acts based on the inherent right of self-defense, which is also reflected in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

The Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes the use of all material and spiritual capabilities of the Iranian nation to defend its security and vital interests. It also acknowledges its responsibilities regarding regional peace and security, highlighting the individual and collective responsibility of all countries in the region to safeguard peace and stability. It appreciates all peace-loving countries in the region and others that have expressed disgust and condemned the aggressive actions of the occupying regime of Israel, understanding the current critical situation.

Undoubtedly, the continuation of the occupation, illegal actions, and crimes of the Zionist regime in the region, especially the genocide of the Palestinian people and aggression against Lebanon—which have persisted under the comprehensive military and political support of the United States and some other Western countries—are the main factors of tension and insecurity in the region.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, recalling the responsibility of each member state of the United Nations, the member states of the ‘Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide,’ and the member states of the ‘Four Geneva Conventions of 1949,’ urges urgent and collective action against gross violations of international law and the United Nations Charter, the Convention on the Prevention of Genocide, and international humanitarian rights, all of which simultaneously represent serious violations of international peace and security. It emphasizes the necessity for the international community to take immediate and urgent action to stop genocide, war, and aggression against Gaza and Lebanon and to contain the war-mongering of the Zionist regime.
