WANA (Oct 26) – Iraq strongly condemned the military aggression of the Israeli regime against Iran and emphasized solidarity and support for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a statement, Basem Al-Awadi, the spokesperson for the Iraqi government, condemned the Israili regime’s attack on Iran.

According to the statement, Al-Awadi said that the occupying Israili regime continues its hostile policies, spreading war in the region, and carrying out blatant aggressions without any obstacle.

He added that this time, the Israili regime targeted sites within Iran.

The Iraqi government spokesperson continued: Iraq had previously warned about the dangerous consequences of the international community’s silence regarding the Israili regime’s brutal actions against the Palestinian people and its aggressions toward Lebanon, Syria, and now Iran.

Al-Awadi added that Iraq condemns this aggression in the clearest and strongest terms, affirming its solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Al-Awadi, Iraq reaffirmed its firm and principled stance in support of a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, along with a comprehensive regional and international effort to promote stability in the region.

In this context, Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of Iraq’s Sadrist Movement, also reacted to the attack, describing it as a sign of Tel Aviv’s confusion and intense concern, as well as that of its supporters.

He stated that, while this action is a clear violation of international law, he considers it too insignificant and trivial to even be condemned. Al-Sadr further added that Israel’s reaction reflects the weakness of this regime and its anxiety over Iran’s steadfast stance and the courage of resistance groups in Palestine and Lebanon.

Referring to the roles of martyrs such as Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Yahya Sinwar, leader of Hamas, al-Sadr emphasized that Palestinian and Lebanese resistance will continue to stand against the hostile actions of the Israeli regime, which has further deepened the confusion of its adversaries.

Saudi Arabia, Oman, Malaysia, and Pakistan had also issued statements condemning this attack.
