Iran’s Non-Oil Trade with Neighbors Exceeds $41 Billion
WANA (Oct 27) – According to the head of Iran’s Customs, non-oil trade between Iran and neighboring countries reached $41.1 billion in the first seven months of this year, marking a 23% increase.
Mohammad Rezvani Far, the Deputy Minister of Economy and head of Iran’s Customs, announced that the weight of non-oil trade with neighboring countries was 64.5 million tons, showing a 16% growth.
During this period, the highest trade exchanges in terms of value were with the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan, and the Russian Federation.
In the first seven months of this year, trade exchanges with the United Arab Emirates amounted to $16.2 billion, Turkey $9.9 billion, Iraq $7.6 billion, Pakistan $1.6 billion, and the Russian Federation $1.5 billion.
Of the total non-oil trade with neighboring countries, 51.1 million tons valued at $20.2 billion were exports, while 13.4 million tons worth $20.9 billion were imports.
Regarding the main export destinations for Iran among neighboring countries, he stated that Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Pakistan were the top five destinations.
He added that the top five sources of imports from neighboring countries during the first seven months of this year were the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, the Russian Federation, Oman, and Pakistan.
