WANA (Oct 27) – Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, responded today to Israel’s October 26 attack on Iran. He challenged the Israelis’ attempt to exaggerate their actions, and his remarks carried key messages: on the one hand, demonstrating Iran’s strategic acumen, and on the other, warning Israel and its allies. Analyzing his speech reveals four main points:

1. Countering Propaganda: Neither Exaggeration nor Underestimation

The Leader of Iran astutely highlighted that Israel’s media hype surrounding the attack is part of their psychological warfare. Contrary to their claims, this action hasn’t caused significant damage to Iran or its military infrastructure. At the same time, underestimating the move would also be a mistake. This stance shows Iran’s realistic approach to the issues and its avoidance of media hype, emphasizing the importance of accurate analysis by officials and experts.

2. Breaking the Enemy’s “Miscalculation”

The Leader openly referred to Israel’s “miscalculation” and their misunderstanding of Iran’s strength and resolve. According to him, Israel still lacks an accurate understanding of Iran’s power and determination. This suggests the Leader believes strategies are needed for Israel to gain a more realistic perception of Iran’s capabilities and abandon its miscalculations. The message is clear: Iran intends to demonstrate, through precise and calculated actions, that it is prepared and capable, contrary to Israel’s assumptions. This miscalculation could have serious consequences for them and lays the groundwork for a smart and meaningful response.

3. Avoiding Hysteria and Preserving Public Calm

One prominent aspect of his speech was the emphasis on restraint and avoiding emotional responses. The Leader urged media and online platforms to refrain from impulsive, unfounded analyses, signaling to the public to remain calm and allow experts to make prudent decisions. This approach could help maintain public morale and prevent the enemy from achieving its psychological goals.

4. Aligning with Official Stances and Avoiding Disunity

The Leader also encouraged media figures to align their perspectives with the country’s official policies and avoid spreading unverified information. This focus on unity and coherence can strengthen national spirit and internal cohesion during crises, signaling to the enemy that Iran moves with a unified and logical voice.

5. Intelligent Decision-Making and Preparedness for Response

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that Iran will not remain passive in the face of hostile actions, but any response should be calculated, carefully timed, and location-specific. His words reflect a belief in strategic patience and informed decision-making based on careful analysis.

In essence, the Leader’s speech calls for moving beyond immediate confrontations and focusing on a long-term strategic approach in dealing with regional threats.

Instead of reactive responses, Iran is formulating a path that shows regional and global adversaries that true strength lies not in impulsive reactions, but in strategic patience and precision. What is certain, however, is that Israel’s mistake in attacking Iran will not go unanswered.
