Iran: Accepting a Ceasefire May Influence the Nature and Intensity of Our Response
WANA (Nov 03) – The Iranian President, while criticizing the hypocritical stance of the U.S. and European countries regarding the self-created crisis in the region, emphasized, “Today, all regional countries have come to believe that the Islamic Republic of Iran seeks peace and stability, while the Zionist regime pursues crisis and war in the region.”
Masoud Pezeshkian, commemorating November 4 as National Day Against Global Arrogance, stated that this day represents all the core values of the Iranian nation and the Islamic Revolution, including resistance against oppression, pursuit of independence, demand for justice, as well as compassion and a desire for peace. He added, “We have never been the instigators of war and have never encouraged any country toward conflict. It is the U.S. that has consistently fueled wars across different parts of the world, including our region, and today, by supporting the Zionist regime, keeps the flames of war burning here.”
The Iranian President further referred to the criminal and aggressive acts of the Israeli regime aimed at fueling war, bloodshed, and conflict in the region. He stated, “It was this Zionist regime that, with the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh on the very first day of our administration, sought to incite war. Despite our restraint at the recommendation of certain countries, hoping for a ceasefire to stop the killing of innocent women and children, the regime intensified its crimes, extending its aggression and atrocities to Lebanon.”
Pezeshkian criticized the hypocritical approach of the U.S. and European countries toward the self-created regional crisis, stating, “If these countries truly oppose war and bloodshed, why do they veto proposed ceasefire resolutions?” He added, “Today, all countries in the region are certain that the Islamic Republic of Iran is working towards peace and stability, whereas it is the Zionist regime, supported by the U.S. and Western nations, that seeks to escalate the crisis and war.”
The President stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not leave any aggression against its sovereignty and security unanswered. Addressing the leaders of the Zionist regime, he said, “They know very well that any misstep against the Islamic Republic of Iran will be met with a decisive response. However, if they reconsider their actions, accept a ceasefire, and cease the killing of innocent and oppressed people in the region, it may impact the nature and intensity of our response.”
Pezeshkian described the conduct of self-proclaimed human rights defenders, in light of the massacre of thousands of innocent women and children in Gaza and Lebanon by the Zionist regime, as disgraceful and shameful. He added, “We have never bombed or attacked the women and children of any nation, nor have we deprived any people of water, food, or medicine. Yet, they have committed all of these inhumane crimes and, shamelessly, accuse Iran with baseless charges, attempting to force nations to comply with their demands—a futile dream, as the free people of the world have never and will never bow to oppression.”
