The Non-Aligned Movement Condemned Israeli Aggression
WANA (Nov 05) – The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) issued a statement strongly condemning Israel’s deliberate aggressive action against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which constitutes a serious violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and led to the deaths of four Iranian military personnel and one civilian.
The NAM, comprising 121 countries, expressed its condemnation of Israel’s attack against Iran. The statement reads: “The Non-Aligned Movement condemns, in the strongest terms, Israel’s deliberate act of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which violates Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and has resulted in the loss of lives, including four Iranian military personnel and one civilian.”
The statement also denounces the violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as Israel unlawfully used Iraqi airspace to carry out this attack against Iran.
The NAM extended deep solidarity with the people and government of Iran, expressing condolences to them and the families of the victims.
The statement reaffirmed that Israel, by committing this attack, has violated fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, particularly Article 2, Paragraph 4, which explicitly prohibits the use of force against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of any country.
The NAM held Israel accountable for this aggression and its consequences, deeming it a threat to regional and international peace and security. It affirmed Iran’s and other affected countries’ inherent right, under international law and the UN Charter, to protect their sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and citizens.
The statement also called on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibility by unequivocally condemning this act of aggression and taking necessary measures to prevent its recurrence.
The NAM reiterated its deep concern over the lack of accountability for all violations committed by Israel against the people of Palestine, Lebanon, and other nations in the region.
The statement further emphasized that Israel must adhere to its international obligations and be held accountable for its blatant disregard for the UN Security Council, the International Court of Justice, and other international legal commitments.
