Iran and Pakistan to Intensify Joint Actions Against Cross-Border Terrorism
WANA (Nov 11) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi stated that during his recent visit to Pakistan, discussions were held on how to combat terrorism, which is a major challenge. He mentioned that both countries have decided to intensify joint actions in responding to terrorism on both sides of their border.
Araghchi added that, in light of the ongoing developments in the region, including the continued Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, and the possibility of the entire region being drawn into a widespread war—something that all regional countries must work to prevent—he also made a brief one-day visit to Pakistan as part of his tour of several regional countries.
He noted that both countries have decided to coordinate their efforts to stop Israeli aggression in the region. Araghchi also expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s firm stance in condemning the Israeli attacks on Iran.
The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that the relationship between Iran and Pakistan is historical and positive, with many different aspects, but still needs to be enhanced. He stated that broader economic relations are necessary.
He added that while sanctions exist, both countries are capable of developing new solutions and mechanisms for economic partnership without being affected by sanctions and punitive measures.
