Araqchi: Thousands of Advanced Iranian Centrifuges to Be Activated
WANA (Nov 26) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, in a meeting with his Spanish counterpart, stated that in response to European countries adopting a resolution against Iran at the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), thousands of advanced Iranian centrifuges will be activated.
Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, met with José Manuel Albares Bueno, Spain’s Foreign Minister, on the sidelines of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations forum in Cascais, Portugal. The two discussed matters of mutual interest, including bilateral relations and regional and international developments.
During the meeting, Iran’s Foreign Minister reiterated the Islamic Republic’s principled approach of fostering engagement and cooperation to promote peace and understanding among nations and cultures. He emphasized the importance of adhering to international law and abiding by international norms and principles.
Araqchi highlighted the dangerous situation in West Asia, attributing it to the ongoing genocide by the Zionist regime and its aggression against Lebanon and other regional countries. He described this situation as a result of Israel’s impunity, further exacerbated by comprehensive military and political support from the United States and certain European nations. Araqchi characterized this support as complicity in war crimes and genocide. He called for stronger global action to halt Israel’s crimes and aggression and to prosecute and punish its leaders.
Referring to the latest developments in Iran-Europe relations, Araqchi criticized the confrontational and interventionist policies adopted by some European countries as unjustifiable and counterproductive. He added, “In response to European countries adopting a resolution against Iran at the Board of Governors of the IAEA, thousands of advanced Iranian centrifuges will be activated.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister stressed the necessity of addressing international and regional issues realistically and in accordance with international law.
