Iran’s Supreme Leader: Armed Forces Must Prioritize Readiness and Combat Power
WANA (Nov 27) – Iran’s Commander-in-Chief, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, emphasized the critical duty of the armed forces to increase their readiness and combat capabilities during a meeting with officials and commanders of the Iranian Navy.
Describing the Navy as a vital and decisive force in today’s world, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the various operational, intelligence, logistical, developmental, and innovative activities within the Navy. He stated, “The focus of the armed forces, particularly the Navy, in all activities and planning must be on enhancing readiness and combat power.”
He stressed that improved combat capabilities serve as a deterrent to enemy aggression and added, “The primary responsibility of the armed forces is to prevent aggression. Therefore, you must act in a way and develop the country’s combat strength to the extent that adversaries clearly perceive that any confrontation will impose a heavy cost on them.”
The Supreme Leader also highlighted the importance of continuing naval missions, remarking, “As mentioned before, the months-long mission of the 86th naval fleet and its details can be effectively communicated to the public using the language and tools of art.”
At the beginning of the meeting, Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, provided a detailed report on the Navy’s programs and activities across various domains.
