WANA (Dec 02) – The Syrian Presidency announced today (Monday) that President Bashar al-Assad held a phone conversation with Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran.

According to the statement, the two leaders discussed the latest regional developments and the ongoing cooperation between their countries in combating terrorism.

President Bashar al-Assad emphasized during the call that the intensifying terrorist attacks align with efforts to fragment the region, divide its nations, and redraw its maps in line with the interests and goals of the United States and the West.

He stated, “These actions only strengthen Syria and its army’s determination to confront and eliminate terrorist weaponry across Syrian territory.”

Masoud Pezeshkian, in response, reaffirmed Iran’s complete opposition to any attempts to undermine Syria’s stability and territorial integrity.

He remarked, “Any harm to Syria’s territorial integrity is a blow to the region’s stability and the unity of its nations.”

Pezeshkian added, “The Zionist-American ambitions targeting the region’s countries and peoples are clear, and what is happening in Syria is a manifestation of these ambitions.”

He also reiterated Iran’s readiness to provide full support to Syria in eradicating terrorism and thwarting the objectives of its supporters.
