WANA (Dec 06) – Second Brigadier General Pilot Seyed Ghasem Khamoushi, Commander of the Iranian Army Aviation (Havanirooz), stated that Havanirooz, as the largest helicopter fleet in West Asia, has served the system, the nation, and the people of Iran both during the years of the Sacred Defense and afterward. He emphasized that whenever the presence of this unit was required, it has promptly responded under the direction of national authorities to assist the people.

He added, “A prime example of Havanirooz’s service to the public is the Iranian Air Ambulance, which covers more than 21 provinces. This has been achieved while maintaining and enhancing our combat readiness.”

Regarding self-sufficiency and manufacturing helicopter parts, General Khamoushi remarked, “In recent years, we have made remarkable progress in part production and maintaining the operational readiness of our helicopters.”

He continued, “In addition, we have integrated modern equipment such as night vision cameras and enhanced the range of precision-guided missiles in recent years. With the directives of the Army’s leadership, Havanirooz today stands at the peak of its readiness and will respond powerfully whenever needed. This is made possible through the efforts of talented young personnel and the collaboration with knowledge-based companies, as emphasized by the Supreme Leader.”

Touching on the overhaul of Havanirooz’s helicopters, General Khamoushi said, “The overhaul and maintenance of our helicopters have been on an upward trajectory in recent years, showing continuous improvement. This process has significantly advanced, and better results are being achieved day by day.”

He also announced that new achievements by the Iranian Army Aviation will soon be unveiled.

When asked about the impact of sanctions on Havanirooz’s operations, he highlighted, “Sanctions provided us with an opportunity to utilize young talent and knowledge-based companies. By identifying and addressing challenges and bottlenecks in the operational readiness of helicopters, we have overcome these obstacles.”

He further noted, “Over the years, our helicopter operational readiness rate has surpassed the global average by seven percent. This statistic demonstrates our technical success in employing young talent and knowledge-based companies to keep our helicopters fully operational in the field.”
