WANA (Dec 08) – The President of Iran emphasized the necessity of dialogue among different groups within Syrian society to achieve mutual understanding. He expressed hope that military conflicts and violence would end as soon as possible, allowing the Syrian people to make decisions about their future in a peaceful environment, free from violence, external interference, and destructive influences—decisions that befit the great people of Syria.

 

Masoud Pezeshkian, referring to developments in Syria, stressed the importance of preserving unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in the country. He reiterated that it is the Syrian people who should determine the future of their nation and its political and governance system.

 

The Iranian President highlighted the necessity of dialogue between various factions within Syrian society to achieve consensus. He expressed hope for the prompt cessation of military confrontations and violence, enabling the Syrian people to decide their destiny in a calm environment without fear, violence, or external disruptive interference—decisions deserving of the honorable Syrian nation.

 

Pezeshkian also emphasized the importance of ensuring the security of all Syrian citizens and residents, safeguarding holy sites, and protecting diplomatic and consular locations in accordance with international law. He stressed the continuation of Iran’s diplomatic consultations with relevant parties and the United Nations to help stabilize the situation and maintain regional security and stability.

 

The Iranian President strongly condemned the actions of the terrorist regime in violating Syrian sovereignty. He called on all domestic parties in Syria, as well as regional countries, to remain vigilant against the Israeli regime’s attempts to exploit the situation to advance its expansionist and illegal ambitions toward the nations of the region.
