WANA (Dec 10) – A new platform for exporting Iranian visual arts to European markets was unveiled by the Iran Trade Center in Poland and Norway.

According to the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Ahmad Firouzi, Director General for Europe and the Americas, highlighted the initiative’s significance during the launch event. “As the main body responsible for promoting Iran’s foreign trade, ITPO leverages various tools to support the export of creative industries,” he said.

Firouzi added that the Visual Arts Department was established in collaboration with the trade centers in Poland and Norway. “This year marks the 550th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Iran and Poland, and cultural and artistic collaboration keeps the flame of our partnership alive,” he noted.

The head of Iran’s Trade Centers in Poland and Norway remarked on the global reach of these centers, stating, “We operate nearly 50 trade centers worldwide. The Poland center was tasked with creating the Visual Arts Department as a private-sector initiative.”

Ali Reza Moghadam, who leads the trade center, emphasized the borderless nature of art and culture. “This department encourages seasoned artists to mentor younger talents, helping them make their mark on the international stage. After eight months of effort, the department is now operational, and we invite other Iranian trade centers to support its global growth.”

Norway’s Support for Iranian Art

Norway’s Economic Advisor expressed enthusiasm for the project during the event, underscoring art’s unifying power. “Art connects people and cultures, paving the way for smoother economic collaboration. The Norwegian Embassy is eager to work with Iranian artists,” he said.

Reza Khodadadi, a painter and faculty member at the University of Arts, praised the initiative as a milestone for cultural diplomacy. “Cross-border cultural and artistic events are a source of pride. While new technologies may fade in the coming years, art will endure,” he remarked, referencing UNESCO’s emphasis on the lasting significance of the arts.

This platform is expected to strengthen Iran’s cultural presence and foster deeper ties with European nations.
