WANA (Dec 08) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf highlighted regional security threats and Iran’s role in countering them. He emphasized that joint plans by Israel and the U.S. against Islam and the region’s countries remain ongoing.

Qalibaf stated: “The Israeli regime has not managed to take even a meter of Lebanese soil, and today, the Resistance Front is more alive and determined than ever.” He also referred to Iran’s presence in Iraq and Syria, saying: “We were present in these countries at the request of their governments to safeguard national security and protect the Islamic Ummah.”

Referring to documents from the ISIS era, he added: “All the evidence shows how quickly ISIS forces moved from Damascus to Iraq, advancing to the gates of Baghdad. They committed horrific atrocities and even launched terrorist operations at Iran’s borders and inside our parliament.”

Qalibaf also recalled the words of the Islamic Republic’s founder, Imam Khomeini: “He said, ‘If you stand against our religion, we will stand against your entire world.’ It is our duty to defend the Islamic Ummah and the oppressed, and we will continue on this path.”

In conclusion, he reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to supporting the Resistance Front and reminded of the shared hostilities of Israel and the U.S. against the region.
